Abstract

Performance is the result of work achieved by someone in carrying out their respective duties and responsibilities in accordance with the burden and responsibility for their work. This study aims to determine the relationship between career development, individual characteristics and motivation on employee performance at ISI Denpasar. The population used in this study were all civil servants of the ISI Denpasar education staff totaling 106 employees. The sampling method is done by proportionate sampling or proportional sampling in each work unit at ISI Denpasar. While respondents use random sampling (random sampling). The sample in this study amounted to 84 people. The data analysis technique used is Partial Least Square (PLS) using Smart Pls software. The results showed that career development has a positive effect on motivation and performance, individual characteristics do not affect motivation but affect employee performance. The results of this study also confirm the role of partial mediation of motivation in the relationship between career development and employee performance. Career development has a dominant influence on employee performance through motivation as a mediating variable.
